About Green Lion Festival

The Beginning

In 2013, three US Green Building Council North Florida members, Glen Wieger, Carrie-Lynn Black, and Hava Hillavarde met in San Marco talking about ways to help "move the green needle" in Jacksonville.  They developed an idea for a festival that brings local "green" organizations and businesses together in one place and you can't have a great festival without some great local beer!

In order to emphasize the local focus of the festival which would occur at Aardwolf Brewing Company, they thought of the prominent lions in the San Marco Square which represent the area.  The name of the festival was born- The Green Lion Festival.

Green Lion Festival seeks to promote awareness of green-focused businesses and innovative organizations while reaching out to the community.
