If you missed 2015 GreenBuild, now is your chance to see some of the top-notch sessions that were recorded.


The Next Generation of Certification session will include an overview of key certification statistics, a description of comprehensive program improvements and the development of innovative certification solutions that are focused on value-add direct engagement with project teams. This update will also include a description of new program certifications that are now part of GBCI’s certification repertoire, including the WELL Building Standard, Sustainable SITES, PEER and GRESB and include a preview of new certification options for LEED project teams. If you are unable to attend this session, please visit the GBCI Certification Work Zone where you can discuss your projects and interact face-to-face with our LEED, PEER and SITES review staff and WELL Assessors.

Presenter: Sarah AlexanderVice President, LEED Certification at Green Business Certification Inc., Washington, D.C. 


As Vice President of Certification Sarah is responsible for the oversight and management of the Green Business Certification Inc.’s (GBCI) global certification activities for delivering certifications for the entire suite of LEED rating systems, the WELL Building Standard, Sustainable SITES, EDGE and PEER rating systems. During her tenure at GBCI Sarah took a leadership role in the recruitment, training and development of a dynamic team of technical experts including industry leaders in the fields of architecture, engineering, urban planning and sustainable design to develop an internal center of technical excellence. Under Sarah’s leadership GBCI has issued ten times the number of LEED certifications than were issued in the nine years prior to GBCI’s involvement, while at the same time improving the timeliness, technical accuracy, consistency and overall quality of the certification work product. Prior to joining USGBC in 2008, Sarah worked in a small architectural practice with a focus on low-income housing in Washington DC. Her professional career began in the United Kingdom where she worked for six years as an exploration geologist and geophysicist. Sarah holds Bachelor of Science degrees (Honors) in both Geology and Architecture.
